What can you expect from your guitar lessons at Upbeat Music School?
Beginner Guitar
Starting your guitar journey can be exciting and a little overwhelming, but we make it fun and approachable. In our beginner guitar lessons, you’ll learn the basics: how to hold the guitar, proper finger placement, tuning, and basic strumming techniques. We’ll introduce simple chords and easy melodies, so you can start playing songs right away. Along the way, you’ll also learn to read chord charts and tablature, giving you the tools to keep learning independently. By the end of this stage, you’ll have a solid foundation to build on and the confidence to keep progressing.
Intermediate Guitar
If you’ve mastered the basics and are ready to level up, our intermediate guitar lessons are designed for you. At this stage, we focus on expanding your chord vocabulary, improving your strumming and picking techniques, and introducing bar chords. You’ll learn to play more complex songs and develop your ear for rhythm and melody. This is also where we introduce improvisation and basic music theory, such as scales and key signatures, so you can start creating your own riffs and solos. Our lessons are designed to help you prepare for playing in bands or performing in front of an audience with confidence.
Advanced Guitar
Advanced guitar lessons are all about refining your skills and mastering the art of guitar playing. Whether you’re looking to shred solos, develop intricate fingerstyle techniques, or explore advanced music theory, our lessons are tailored to your goals. You’ll learn techniques used by guitar legends, from sweep picking to hybrid picking, and delve into songwriting and arranging for guitar. At this level, we’ll also work on performance techniques, helping you fine-tune your stage presence and prepare for professional opportunities. Our experienced teachers are here to guide you every step of the way.
